Fundraising For Club Improvements Update

A massive thank you to everybody that has donated to the CBC’s crowdfunder campaign to fund new steps and a green water storage tank.
We can now announce that as of April 7th the total has reached £3,760, with 22 supporters.
We are delighted to have been awarded a grant of £2000 from the Flutter UKI cash4clubs programme delivered in partnership with Sported.
This donation has been given to us to be used specifically to go towards financing the steps.
At this rate we will soon qualify for the £6471 that Sport England has promised us which will get us much nearer to our £12,942 target.
If you wish to donate follow this link https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/cbcnewaccessand-water-storage-tank to visit the crowdfunder site.
Please spread the word and keep the donations coming.

Fundraising For Club Improvements

For many club members and visitors especially those with mobility issues safely accessing the green down the steep steps presents a considerable challenge. To address this problem our club committee has decided to improve the steps leading from the car park and install a new set of steps down to the green. This will ensure that all of our members are able to access the green safely.

In addition to the steps we are also raising money to install a 3000 litre water storage tank. This will be connected to a pump which will deliver water on to the green at a much faster rate than at present.

The total cost for both of these projects is £12,942. The good news is that we have received a pledge from Sport England for £6,471 which will be paid when we meet the other half of the target. To enable us to achieve this we have launched a crowdfunder campaign. To access our campaign page please click on the link https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/cbcnewaccessand-water-storage-tank
Please note: The Sport England amount is dependent on us providing our half and having a minimum of 25 pledges.
I suggest if more than one family member is donating that they each donate separately which will help us to meet the target.

We would like to get as many people involved as possible so please spread the word to friends and family as well as on Facebook and other social media platforms.

One obsevation has been that whilst pledging the site will give you the opportunity to add a tip. These tips cover the platform costs to ensure it’s ongoing functuality. If you would rather not tip the pledge screen has a slider that you can set to zero.

Any donation will be gratefully received. Let’s get behind this campaign and make these much needed improvements happen.

A Nice Meal In Good Company

Following a very enjoyable and successful year of bowls we gathered at the Ilminster Bowls Club for our annual presentation dinner. Thank You For The Music

As promised Reg accompanied by his guitar entertained us with a delightful evening of songs. We all sang along to a variety of tunes ranging from Beatles hits through to Pink Floyd. Rita and Anne stepped up to the mike with their renditions of hand bags and glad rags and those were the days my friends. Thanks to Reg for arranging the evening, we look forward to joining you in song in the future. Please visit the gallery to see more photos.
