A Message From Laura, (Mick’s Daughter)

Dearest Bryan and all the members of the Crewkerne Bowling Club.

Thank you all for taking the time to put together such a wonderful book of your heartfelt
messages about my Dad, Mick Paterson
🌻❤️🌻❤️🌻

I know that he loved being a part of the club and cherished your friendships wholeheartedly.
Indeed he is missed but will not be forgotten. This is clear in your words and appreciation of
him, his wacky Aussie sense of humour and the handy work he has left behind.

With deepest appreciation and many thanks 🙏

Love Laura Xx ❤️

Yeovil Indoor Friendly Bowls Match

We had a very enjoyable afternoon’s bowling at our annual indoor match against Yeovil. This year saw a close result on all three rinks with a win for Yeovil. We may of not have won the match but we did win all the prizes on the raffle. Thanks to all of our members who turned out to play and also to Yeovil for their hospitality. We look forward to next year’s game.

A Quiz Night with a difference

Our last quiz evening of the year was as usual played in a good spirit with plenty of banter between the teams and Darren the quiz master. In a break from the normal tradition every round had a choice of multiple answers which meant if you didn’t have a clue at least you could guess. It was a very close contest until the last round when the Newbies played their joker and won for the third time in a row. A big thank you to Darren who as usual did a great job of compiling the questions and hosting the evening. We look forward to quizzing again next year, I urge everyone to get the encyclopedias out over the winter period as we can’t let the Newbies win for a fourth time.

Annual Presentation Lunch

On Sunday October 6th our members gathered at the Ilminster Bowls Club for our Annual Presentation Lunch. After a fine meal our President Penny Dawson presented the competition winners with their trophies. Congratulations to all of those that received awards, it was good to see so many members taking part this year. Thanks to Andy for organising the competitions and ensuring that the award ceremony ran like clockwork. Also a big thank you to Lynne and Linda for all their hard work in organising the meal and Anne for running the raffle. Photos taken on the day can be viewed in the website Galleries section.

Captain’s V President’s

What a great afternoon of bowling! All bowlers showing so much skill and so much enjoyment! A keenly fought competition. And a wonderfully generous buffet provided by members. I think our late friend Mick sent us some Aussie sunshine. Who won? The President’s team were victorious but as I have said many times, this day bowls won!
