After fourteen weeks of eight teams fiercely competing for the Triples Competition Cup the result was decided with a thrilling finish on the final evening of the competition. With team A captained by Derek Smith on 24 points and team B who’s captain was Anne Smith on 27 points the competition could be won by either team. In the event Derek’s team beat their opponents and Anne’s team were held to a draw by their’s resulting in a final score of team A with 27 points and team B with 28 points. Congratulations to team B who were – Anne Smith, Clive Crabb, John Ward, Bob Wheeler and Martin Goldsack. It was good to have a close finish to a very enjoyable competition, we look forward to inviting club members to take part next year.
